Description

The first Czech publication accompanying the exhibition at the Veletržní Palace on the groundbreaking work of the Austrian artist Maria Lassnig (1919–2014). The catalogue examines her work, including her relationship to American experimental film, and includes an analysis of the conceptual aspects of meta-paintings by Marie Lassnig and her sculptural work. In addition to a curative study by Adam Budak on the immersive essence of Marie Lassnig's work and texts by theoreticians and critics Kasia Redzisz, Lauren Barnes, James Boaden and Anna Fricke, the publication also contains the essay "The Power of Woman: Hard Work" by Swiss art historian Ludmila Vachtová.
